So I was doing a google search for Stretch because I wanted to tell Gigs that he looks like him (you really do Gigs, check it)And I came across the most interesting story. My favorite Stretch dressed to be the Caps back up goalie back on Dec 12, 2008. Theo was injured during morning practice so they called up Varly (for his first NHL game). Varly was in Texas with the Bears and wasn't going to be able to make it back until after face off. So? Naturally? The Caps organization went to the press box for Brett Leonhardt? How cool is that?? I'll let these articles give you more of the whole story.

ReplyDeletehahah yeah, i could have sworn I told you that story, but maybe i didn't. i literally run into him whenever i'm up in the 400s. he lurks around corners. i've seen a few Leonhardt jerseys at VC. i actually think it's the same guy and he knows/related to mr. leonhardt because i saw them on the elevator once...i swear i'm not a stalker....just sounds like it.
