Mountain Delights
I went to Mountain State Brewing Co. this weekend. They brew their own beer and root beer. I went with a glass of delicious bubbly sassafras brew. We sat on the patio at the white picnic table, ween above. We ordered pizza and it was INCREDIBLE, no wonder Kost had been talking about it for 24 hours. The Cuban was, surprisingly, my fave. We also ordered the Pesto & Prosciutto and the Fire on the Mountain. I want to know why pizza everywhere does not taste like this pizza. After being told three large pizzas would definitely be enough for the 8 of us, we had to order a fourth, another Fire on the Mountain, because we CRUSHED the first 3. Perfect for stuffing ourselves uncomfortably and for hot tub snacking later, too. While we were waiting for our last pizza and enjoying the incredible view the patio afforded, we noticed a man arrive from over the mountain and starting to descend. On a horse. 10 min later he had arrived at the restaurant and hitched what turned out to be a beautiful mule to the hitching post by the patio. He fed the mule a snack from his saddle bag and then walked his cowboy outfit and spurs to the bar on the patio for a cool draught. He went back to enjoy his ice cold beverage with his mule. Photo evidence above. Then, pizza arrived. After we all wished we had stabbed ourselves in the eyes instead of eating another slice of pizza/cursed the fact we had no more stomach room for pizza, we lounged on those porch chairs to recover from pizza coma. O yeah, and the whole time there was a man on a guitar singing and playing the most delightful blue grass music. Perfect mountain dinner.
