Rasika
So yesterday was quite the food day. I finally went to Rasika. Aubrey and I tried to make reservations here for last restaurant week but they were booked by the time we called, almost three weeks out! Obligatory shout out: Mayank went here over the summer with his friends and talked about it. Non. Stop. It wasn't annoying at all...
The decor was really pretty, they had these green shimmery curtains I LOVED. And then a random chandelier over our booth blocking my view of Em's sweet face...We ordered the Palak Chaat (crispy spinach/ sweet yogurt/ tamarind/ date chutney) based on the recommendation of everyone we knew who had been there. Literally three different people told me to order this (pictured above). I was thinking, honestly, how great can spinach be? The answer is SO GREAT. UnBELIEVABLY great. Yummy. As appetizers we also ordered Ragda Patties (Spiced potato/ chick peas/ tamarind/ date/ mint chutney) and Goolar Ke Kebab (Black mission figs/ lentils/ spiced mascarpone). Yum Yum Yum. I also splurged and had a glass of Grenache. For my main entree I had the Chicken Makhani, or their butter chicken. Our waiter said it was the most popular dish on their menu. I ordered it at a level 8 spiciness, I think I probably should have gone for the 10. Incidentally, our waiter was a 10+. A married 10+. Womp womp. Back on topic, the chicken was unreal and, as Em put it, I could brush my teeth with the sauce. Also ordered a piece of Naan. Everything was perfect. So good. According to Waiter 10+ the chef at Rasika applied for Top Chef, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Next up, Zaytinya! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go heat up the ramen I'll be living on to make up for the meals I had yesterday.
