Vote For Jane

Napoleon: Why do you got your hood on like that?
Pedro: Well, when I came home from school, my head started to get really hot. So I drank some cold water, but it didn't do nothing. So I laid in the bathtub for a while, but then I realized that it was my hair that was making my head so hot. So I went to the kitchen, and I shaved it all off. I don't want anyone to see.
Napoleon: I know what you mean.

I pulled a Pedro.

I think I'll get used to the cut eventually, but I'm surprised by how emotional I feel about it. she cut off the bottom foot of my hair in about 4 or 5 cuts and set my hair in front of me. It was just sitting there. The last 3 years of my life. Or some representation of it at least. Makes you think I guess. Primed for a new beginning... Good bye, hair. They tell me you will be used for color samples. I hope this next chapter of your life brings you every happiness.

News Digest

There are a bunch of things in the news today (or that I just discovered today) that are grabbing me, so here we go:

  • You can play Pacman on Google dot com today! Happy 30th Pacman. (Brian remember when you said you were like Batman and I said more like PACMAN and I laughed and laughed for WEEKS?)

  • IIHF vs NHL drama. Crosby specifically got a call out. Makes it so hard to choose sides...

  • HABS FTW last night making it a 2-1 series. Cammalleri had his 13th goal and has the most goals in the playoffs so far. I appreciate at least that they are providing an exciting playoff season for hockey fans everywhere. :)

  • This is kind of a rando, but this is really good video footage of Niemi's insane save in game 2 of this Blackhawks v Sharks series.

Brett Lion Hearted

So I was doing a google search for Stretch because I wanted to tell Gigs that he looks like him (you really do Gigs, check it)

And I came across the most interesting story. My favorite Stretch dressed to be the Caps back up goalie back on Dec 12, 2008. Theo was injured during morning practice so they called up Varly (for his first NHL game). Varly was in Texas with the Bears and wasn't going to be able to make it back until after face off. So? Naturally? The Caps organization went to the press box for Brett Leonhardt? How cool is that?? I'll let these articles give you more of the whole story.

Muppets For Bay To Breakers

Costume Brainstorming Session-

me: what about me
Sarah: PIGGY
me: i know i wish i was as beautiful as Piggy
Daphne: Jane can you be that Miss Piggy? (see above)

She wears GLOVES ON HER ARMS AND RINGS ON HER FINGERS WHEN SHE WORKS OUT. And there is a bottle of champagne in the background. God she is the loveliest. If I could only model my life after Miss Piggy and Posh Spice, I could become the real woman I long to be.

A Walk In Our Shoes

Pen's fans have gotten a taste of what it feels like to get shut down by these Habs. You know, with their incredible crowd, Halak, Cammi,...this team is really growing on me :)

Pure frustration. Nothing in the world makes me feel quite as happy as seeing Fleury banging his stick around in aggravation. Well, except for seeing Fleury pulled and throwing a tantrum before he can even get to the locker room :) This post is dedicated to you, Marc-Andre.

Here we go game 7. I hope Hal Gill will be in, Newman to Crosby's Seinfeld. Speaking of Crosby, cross checking someone after the game is over is GREAT sportsmanship, GREAT leadership, and just plain CLASSY. Way to go. If the Pens lose on Wednesday, I hope he tries to steal Halak's lunch money. Moron.

With Philly's win last night, they look like they're trying to pull a Montreal on Boston. The possibility of a Montreal v Philly eastern conference final is blowing my mindgrapes. I will admit that unless the Pens come out victorious on Wednesday, I don't think there's any chance the East is going to win the cup this year. Although, if you haven't figured it out by now, I love a good Cinderella story...and Halak is singing bippity boppity boo.

More Huge News

I solved my sports bra mystery. I had been telling my sister all weekend I needed to go to Dick's to get a sports bra. She came with me on Sunday and I was telling her how strange it was that I had lost it and how this had happened with my black zip up hoodie as well, which was found at Paul's a year later.

"WAIT."
"Yes Alice?"
"I have a mystery large sports bra at school..."
"..."

Mystery solved. The next case for this gumshoe? My Caps tote bag. Can't find it anywhere!!!

Also, this is what I blog about without Caps hockey. I bet anyone who complained my blog was too hockey heavy is biting their tongue now...

Womp

I just demolished the "w" key on my laptop. Now what? :(

This Is Huge

Hello blog. I have a perfect, blog-like, mundane, my life is average, story for you.

Several years ago, I lost a link in my watch and haven't been able to wear it since.

I truly thought that ONE DAY I would be able to find a new link or get around to walking into a Guess store and solving my problem. So for years, I have REFUSED to buy a new watch.

I think I just found the link. I am...ecstatic. Reaping the reward of my eccentricity. Basking in the joy of my idiosyncrasy. I need to bring the link back to DC to check with the watch to be sure I have located the correct link. This is assuming I can still find the watch after all this time...

Thanks for listening, blog. :)

Happy Birthday Mayank!

Happy Birthday to one of my most LOYAL READERS. (This is actually a test Mayank, if you dont' mention this post...well...I'll know.)

Also, isn't it weird that I found this pic, based on this post? Uncannier and uncannier...

Pop Music: The Stuff Nightmares Are Made Of

Teeth by Gaga already freaked me out so much. I used to have recurring nightmares in college about my teeth. So this song really made my skin crawl a little. Now that I have a lovely visual to go with it, I'm terrified.

Here are the latest from Christina and Miley, which seem to follow suit in this trendy new style of expression and terror.

European Union Embassies' Open House Day

EU Embassies' Open House is on Saturday, May 8. Go go! Here's the program of events. The theme this year is Green Europe: Good for the Economy and the Environment. I'll be exploring the embassies with Dupont-ish locales starting at around 1ish, let me know if you decide to go!

Pajamas You Live In. Jeans You Sleep In.

I want Pajama Jeans. I want these and I want to wear them all day everyday. I want to wear them with the Pajama Jeans Logo T-shirt. I want to live in these and bask in the absurdity of a world where they exist. Pajama Jeans, get on my legs.
